MARTIAL ARTS
Despite focusing almost all of his energy to his ability with Force Drain, Darth Nihilus remained a reasonably skilled martial artist. However, Mara Jade is considerably more powerful then just a "reasonably skilled" martial artist, being one of the best duelists of her day. Thus I would give the edge to Mara over Nihilus. Moving on to Luke versus Traya, we see an even bigger difference in skill. Luke has just as much academic knowledge as Traya, plus a good deal more experience and combative skill. Unsurprisingly, the Grandmaster secures another edge for the Jedi. Moving on to probably the most controversial match up here, the battle between Jaina Solo and Revan is going to be a hard fought one, regardless of who actually wins. Although I would say that Jaina is the actual better martial artist, Revan's tactical insight and precognition would allow him to stalemate the Sword of the Jedi, at least long enough for the other duels to be resolved anyways. As for the last two match ups: Although Sion has a good deal more refinement and experience then Kyp Durron, Kyle Katarn similarly outclasses Darth Malak. In the end, the Jedi come away from the first round with three edges, as apposed to the Sith's one edge.
FORCE POWERS
Although Traya focuses on the Force above all else, whereas Luke does not, the Jedi's overwhelming strength in the Force more than evens things out. Add in a Grand masters refinement, and the advantage switches to the Jedi master. Although that was pretty obvious, the next edge is going to be much more controversial. Although Nihilus does get the edge in Force powers, I do not actually think this will be decisive, as I believe Mara is strong enough in the Force to resist Nihilus's Force drain until she can close the distance and force Nihilus to rely on non-soul eating powers. Moving on to Revan and Jaina, there is a situation similar to the first edge. Although Jaina is heir to a powerful Force lineage, Revan has his own fair share of skill with the Force, enough to match Jaina's. Next, we again have Durron and Sion, both of whom have a good deal of natural power with the Force. However, while Sion can really only manifest this as a way to keep himself from falling apart, Kyp is free to use it in a much more practical sense, giving him an advantage. And finally, we have Katarn and Malak, both of whom have a very similar level of powers and ability's, although Katarn has the use of both "Light" and "Dark" sides of the Force. In terms of Force Powers, the Sith come much closer to matching the Jedi then in the first round, although the Light siders still come away with the slight advantage.
PHYSICAL SKILL
Although Mara is a very resilient fighter, the fact that Nihilus does not have a physical body does give him a large advantage, due to the amount of damage he can take. On the other hand, although he is past his prime, Luke is still in much better condition than Traya, and also has the use of both his hands, giving him the advantage over the Sith. Unsurprisingly, both Revan and Jaina are pretty much equals here, demonstrating a similar amount of speed and strength. Continuing on, Sion would get the major edge over Kyp, owing to the fact he is almost impossible to kill, meaning Kyp would have to work hard to even take him out of the fight, much less put him down for good. And to finish things off, we have Malak and Katarn: one has a notable amount of speed and the other has a notable amount of strength, but an obvious point of weakness. In the end, since Katarn lacks a major physical weakness and can almost match Malaks strength, Katarn gets the edge over Malak due to his superior speed, evening things out for the two teams.
EQUIPMENT
Jumping ahead a bit, both Nihilus and Revan have knowledge of dual wielding, but do not actually carry a second blade with them. This swings the advantage over to there opponents use of Blasters, although the effectiveness of such weapons against Sith lords is very much in question. Also, just to get it out of the way here, Sion, Malak, Kyp and Katarn all use standard Lightsabers, with no advantages either way. The only real contrast here is between Luke and Traya. Luke has dealt with a wide variety of strange and unusual weapons (he once fought off a surprise ambush of a person wielding six Lightsabers) and his Shoto would help him deal with Traya's three blades, but the advantage in variety and options still go to the Sith lord.
THE VERDICT
It is my hope that I have done an accurate job of assessing all of these characters, although I realize that with ten people I probably screwed up somewhere. Because one thing must be understood here: these five Sith are easily the most powerful of there day, with many impressive achievements to there name. I know the Sith have somewhat lagged behind throughout this video, but that is a testament to the Jedi's skills, not any weaknesses on the Sith's part. Now, with that being said, on to the verdict itself. Mara Skywalker, in my opinion, is fast enough and strong enough in the Force to close the distance with Nihilus, forcing the Lord of Hunger into a real duel. Although I do think Mara would defeat Nihilus, the effort will be great enough that, if she doesn't just drop dead from the sheer effort and Nihilus's force drain, she will collapse and be unable to help any of her Jedi allies. Sadly, Traya will not fare nearly as well. Most people assume that anyone versus Grand master Luke is a forgone conclusion and, although I don't necessarily agree with that, this battle strongly supports that idea. Traya's greatest strength in the Force, but Luke equals if not surpasses her skill with it, meaning she will have to attempt to take down Luke with the blade which...yeah, thats not happening anytime soon. Jaina vs Revan is probably the most controversial matchup of the bunch, which is problematic considering I am calling it a tie between the two. Jaina is most likely the more powerful and skilled of the two, but Revan is capable of matching her long enough for the other four battles to be resolved, meaning there battle will actually be decided by who gets reinforcements first. Speaking of which, the last two battles pretty solidly go to the Jedi. Sion may have the martial and physical advantage, but Kyp is no weakling himself. Add to this his major advantage in the Force, and there duel is probably going to end with Kyp stunning Sion with telekinesis and then decapitating him, although it is just as likely that Sion will solder through Kyp's attacks and strike the Master down. Malak has no such luck. Katarn outclasses the would be Dark Lord in pretty much every area, leaving the Battle master free to join the others in combat. And this is where the Sith have there biggest failing. Best case scenario for them is Nihilus, Revan and Sion against Luke, Jaina and Katarn, and they simply wont win that. And its not necessarily because the Jedi are better at combat, but it's also because there better at teamwork. All five of these Jedi have fought side by side in the worst wars the Galaxy has ever had to suffer through, short of the New Sith Wars. They have saved each others lives countless times and proved themselves the greatest of allies. The Sith....not so much. If it wasn't for the Jedi's presence here, they would almost immediately attack and kill each other, much less work effectively as a team. And remember, thats the BEST case scenario. A more likely one is Revan versus Luke, Jaina, Kyp and Katarn. Guess who would win that. Thus, due to a greater level of skill, power and not having homicidal tendencies against each other, I declare the NJO Jedi the winners.
