INTRODUCTION
Greetings
viewers and fellow Imperial knights! This is Hondo Moonrazor here,
with another versus vid on request! As suggested by Darth Judicar,
today we are pitting The Hero of Tython against the Emperors Wrath.
Now of course, we have no cannon confirmation on the Emperors wrath
(or the Hero of Tython for that matter) however, I do believe, as
long as there balanced and viable outlines, that it is acceptable to
use a fan made outline, at least until we get some kind of
cannon. Thus, thanks must go to Ruinqueenofoblivion, who designed this
version of the Emperors Wrath and supplied the videos of her. With
the explanations and credit out of the way, Lets begin! (Oh, you know
if I ever get involved in official Lucasfilm novels, this fight WILL
officially happen.)
MARTIAL
ARTS
The
Hero of Tython's, as with most Jedi Guardians, was primarily
centered on his skill with his blade. Although he was also skilled
with Shien and Soresu (which he used to great affect against blaster
wielders), the only form the Hero of Tython is mentioned as mastering
Shi Cho, the first lightsaber form. Despite the forms general
weakness at one on one dueling (as evidenced by Kit Fisto) this is a
weakness the Hero has apparently and completely nullified this: his
number of named Sith he defeated in lightsaber duels is over twenty,
containing such high level Lords as Bengel Mor, Darth Angrual,
Tol Braga and of course the Sith emperor, to name just a few. In
short, the Hero is not only a top tier for his age, but for the
entire saga.
The emperor's Wrath was a Sith marauder and one of the most powerful Sith of her era. In addition with her considerable skill with Jerkai dual wielding, the Wrath backed this up with Juyo, the seventh form of lightsaber combat. As such, she was a highly aggressive and offensive duelist, responsible for as many Sith deaths as Jedi deaths. She also had at least some understanding and practical knowledge of Soresu and Atarua. The Wrath was an almost unparalleled duelist, defeating Jeasse Williams, Darth Baras and many others in one on one combat.
This is, needless to say, incredibly close. Between these two, there track record almost reads as a list of Sith and Jedi who were killed during the galactic war. Although the Wrath has slightly more defeats, the Hero has slightly more impressive defeats: For example, the Wraths ultimate opponent was Darth Baras, who was close to equal with Darth Angrual, a Sith the Hero killed early in his career. On a technical level, neither the Hero's controlled offense/defense or the Wraths nearly unbeatable offense holds an advantage over the other one. In the end, these two are more likely to collapse from exhaustion than to beat each other through martial arts: I call it a tie in the first category.
FORCE POWERS
Despite
being considered the most powerful Jedi of his time, the Hero
primarily focused on his bladework, leaving his force powers
relatively underdeveloped. Although his telekinesis was powerful
enough to lift many tones of stone and his force defense could stop
the Sith emperor's force Lightning, the Hero was not as powerful with
the force as, say, the Barsenthor.
As
with the Hero, the Wrath focuses on her bladework above all else.
Still, she was capable of self augmentation, telekinetic throws and
chokes, and even had some experience with the rare ability of Force scream.
A
close call. The Wraths Force scream is something the Hero can not
replicate, but the Hero's telekinesis has demonstrated itself to have
more raw power behind it. Add in that the Heros force defense should
at least partially stop the Wraths kinitight, and the fact that
neither of them are that big on the force in the first place, and In
the end I have to call them Even in force powers.
PHYSICAL
SKILLS
The
Hero was a Zabrak male in the prime of his life. As such, he was an
absolute physical powerhouse, capable of taking a ridiculous amount
of damage before going down, at least compared to us squishy human
things.
The
Wrath (or at least this version of her) was a female Sith pureblood,
and as such she had no real physical advantages over your average
human. That being said, he young age and physical skill has been
mentioned as a deciding factor in several of her
duels.
The
physical edge is more difficult to call than it normally is
when Zabraks are involved. Despite her slim build, The Wrath was very
strong, and despite his stockier build, the Hero was still
incredibly fast. In the end, the Heros natural Zabrak
physique does make him a slightly tougher fighter. The Hero gets
the physical edge.
WEAPONS
AND EQUIPMENT
As
a Jedi Guardian, the Hero of Tython was armed with a single, blue
bladed lightsaber with a ornate design that has no inherent
advantages or disadvantages. In addition to this, the Hero also
almost always wore lightsaber resistant armor.
The
Wrath was a dual blade specialist, wielding two blood red
lightsabers. Following the Sith standards of the time, the hilts
were designed as power tools, with razor blades on the end.
She also commonly donned lightsaber resistant armor.
The
equipment edge is relatively easy. They both are equipped
with armor and although the Hero doubtlessly has experience against
dual wielding, the Wraths dual blades do provide her with many more
options in combat, provided that she doesn't have an over
reliance on the second blade. I give the weapon edge (no pun
intended) to the Wrath.
THE
VERDICT
Wow, I have not had a match up this close in A long time. Whoever wins this battle will probably only have A 5.1/10 advantage and an extensive recovery time afterwards. There martial arts ability is so close, that any difference would be infantile. If either one of them resort to the force (which is unlikely) the other one will be able to match there attack, or at least whether it. The Hero is slightly physically superior, but armor makes this almost a pointless category. In a similar vane, the Wraths dual blades are circumvented by the Heros experience against such weapons. See my problem? In the end the battle is decided by something that isn't even a category: tactics. the Emperor's Wrath is by no means an idiot, but she has the same mind set as almost all Sith: an overwhelming focus on offense and rage. The Hero on the other hand, is more calm and levelheaded, less likely to make a mistake. Dont get me wrong, if I had to pick a dark side character as the one who defeated Revan, it would definitely be the Wrath. But from where I am standing, if this battle is decided by who is a quicker and more tactical thinking (which it almost certainly will be, since these twos skill sets are so close), I have to give the VERY slight edge to the Hero. Thus, I declare the Hero of Tython the battered and bruised winner.
