Azula VS Chandra Nalaar

 

INTRODUCTION

Greetings viewers and MTG and/or Lat airbender fans! Today we have a crossover versus battle, Princess Azulo vs Chandra Nalaar. I am not that big on either series. So why am I doing this? Actually, My good friend Redshirtguy96 suggested this battle, and I saw no reason not to (as ignorance of these to series are rather easily fixed with access to Youtube and your brother 1000+ cards), so I thought I would give it a go. With that being said, lets see which fire wielder comes out un-burnt.

MARTIAL ARTS

Although primarily a sorcerers, Azulo still had some skill with martial arts. She was reasonably competent with hand to hand fighting and was fast enough to doge even Aang's bending. All this being said, she is still primarily a firebender and did not normally rely on martial arts.

Chandra Nalaars approach to combat was simple enough:  Kill it with fire, kill it with fire and kill it with fire. Although I could be wrong, from what I have seen, Chandra doesn't really have a grasp on any martial arts, or any combat tactic besides, well, kill it with fire.

The first edge is clear. Azulo is at least a limited martial artist, while Chandra has no such claim. I give Azulo the edge in martial arts.

FIRE BENDING

And now for the category you all came to see. Azulo was a natural with firebending, being incredibly powerful with it while still a young age. In her older years, Azulo was powerful enough that she hardly even used normal orange bladed fire, instead using much more intense blue flame. To tell the truth, from my limited experience with the series, the only fire benders capable of truly standing alone against her were Aang and the Fire lord himself. She also had some skill with lightning bending. All this being said, and like all benders from the series, she could still be harmed by fire, even her own if she screws up enough (which, considering her skill, is very unlikely).

From a very early age, Chandra's natural pyrokenieses was powerful enough to destroy entire houses. As she grew, so did her skill with this ability, to the point she was basically become the face of red manna. Although, as previously mentioned, she doesn't really have anything but "kill it with fire", she is EXTREMELY good at killing things with fire. Chandra is also a palneswalker, meaning she has the ability to travel between realms, speaking to an incredibly high level of magic.

In terms of fire bending, both of these are very powerful and refined with there ability's. Although I believe Chandra is a slightly more powerful and refined regardless, she appears to be completely unharmed by flame, meaning that unless Azulo resorts to lightning almost immediately, she is at a MAJOR disadvantage. I give Chandra the edge in terms of fire bending.

PHYSICAL SKILL

Due to her martial training, Azulo is very swift and powerful for her size. That being said, Chandra is often depicted to physically engulfed in flame. Meaning, that if this battle becomes a physical one, Azulo will be trying to attack a big ball of fire (not a great idea). I give Chandra the physical edge, due to her body temperature.

WEAPONS AND EQUIPMENT

Azulo has been depicted using such weapons as staffs and shrunkens and seems to be quite effective with them. Chandra kills it with fire. Princess Azulo gets the final edge.

THE VERDICT

And now, the verdict. There are two very real possibilities here, both of which having a different outcome. Either 1) They engage each other in fire bending, in which case, although Azulo is certainly a very skilled and powerful bender, Chandra can respond in kind and completely ignore Azulos efforts, or 2) Azulo attacks with lightning, shrunkens or really anything but fire bending, in which case she will probably take Chandra down before she is taken out by her fire. However, Azulos strong suit and modis operandi is fire bending and she is very likely to just attack using this power, only to watch as Chandra bursts into flame by herself. Although her ability to redirect fire would keep her alive for awhile and she might be able to get in a hit with her other abilities, but I don't think she can do this before she becomes a princess BBQ (I hope I never have to say that again). In short, although Chandra is more straight forward, Azulos inability to see the future and figure out that attacking her with fire is NOT a good idea is probably going to get her killed her. I declare Chandra Nalaar the winner.
