Nomi Sunrider vs K'kruhk Wollf Myth collaboration
BIOGRAPHY
Over the course of it's 36,000 plus existence, the Jedi Order has had many powerful and legendary members. However, very few could compete with the legacy left behind by Jedi Grand master Nomi Sunrider. Born on a unknown planet (Most likely Darada) some point before 3998 BBY, Nomi married the young Jedi knight Andur Sunrider and had a single daughter, Vima. Although she was extremely powerful with the Force, Nomi dismissed the idea of becoming a Jedi, until the tragic death of her husband at the hand of criminals. Finally accepting her destiny, Nomi was trained by Master Thon and became a well respected member of the Order, playing a pivotal role in the Great Sith Wars. After the War, Nomi was unanimously elected Jedi Gran Master, serving with distinction and becoming one of the very few Jedi commonly compared with equally legendary Grand Master Yoda thousands of years later.
MARTIAL ARTS
Despite being a paragon of the Jedi Order, Nomi had a well established dislike of Lightsabers, something she even expressed while a Grand Master, to some degree at least. That being said, Nomi was undoubtedly a natural swords-woman: with exactly zero training, Nomi picked up a weapon she was completely unfamiliar with and cut down a large group of the Hutts best mercenaries. Although it is hard to judge, as she was never involved in a true Lightsaber duel, I do believe I can take an educated guess at what Lightsaber Form Nomi prefers. She Fought in A relatively basic style, that remained viable nonetheless. Commonly using wild, broad strikes and extremely skilled at cutting down large groups of enemies, I would peg Nomi as A practitioner of Form 1, Shii Cho. This is further backed up by her distaste of the weapons, most likely leading to her largely ignoring her skills with the blade, although Form six, Nimen, is also a possibility, as it is in keeping with Nomi's philosophy and mindset, as well as her proven skill at changing in her Force powers with her blade-work. If I am right about this, then Nomi would an absolute expert in most combat situations, fighting in a wild and offensive manner, but on the converse, a weakness in one on one combat, although this has been compensated for by other masters of the form. As previously mentioned, Nomi was an experienced warrior, fighting on the front lines of the most brutal and pivotal battles of the Sith wars, handling herself expertly on every occasion. In fact, Nomi has completely failed to even once show any kind of weakness in this arena, despite her preference for staying out of combat altogether. All that being said, prowess on the battlefield does not automatically translate into skill in one on one dueling, as shown on multiple occasions. On a final note, Nomi was skilled in unarmed fighting, beast riding and one handed fighting.
FORCE POWERS
When most people talk about Star Wars characters with a good deal of natural power with the Force, they think of the Clone Wars era masters, such as Yoda and Sidious. However, when I think of Star Wars characters naturally powerful with the Force, there are very VERY few I would place ahead of Nomi Sunrider. To get an understanding of just why this is, I think we need to begin with Jedi Battle meditation. An arcane and powerful skill, not to mention one of the most powerful in the arsenal of the Jedi Order, Battle Meditation allowed a single Jedi to boost his allies moral and weaken his enemies resolve. The most powerful master of this skill from the Clone Wars era was either Yoda or Oppo Rancisis, both of whom where well over a century old and two of the wisest Masters of the age. Nomi Sunrider used this skill on pure instinct to save her daughter from Sith created monsters. After training, Nomi was specifically mentioned as being able to end entire conflicts with Constantine ease with this ability. While we are on the subject of the arcane, Nomi Sunrider was one of the very few masters of what I consider to be THE single most powerful weapon in the Light Side's arsenal: the Force severe technique. Creating a wall of Light that could cut Dark Siders off from the Force (either permanently or temporarily) Nomi was one of only two known Jedi with this ability and the only one who could use it truly effectively, even against such greats as Ulic Qel-droma. Although early on in her carrier Nomi had a pronounced difficulty battling others physic attacks, this is something she eventually overcame, fighting off of the influence of powerful Sith sorcerers. However, this is not to say Nomi wasn't skilled in more practical abilities, with telekinesis in particular being a commonly used ability in her arsenal. Although it is not a opinion shared by many, including my collaborator, I am of the belief that Nomi outranks just about any other character in terms of Force powers, including Yoda.
PHYSICAL SKILLS
A human female of at least 34 years of age, Nomi Sunrider was in reasonable physical condition. Although she has never proven herself to be extraordinary in this realm, she has no known weakness'es either and still remains in the physical prime for her species, even while a Grand master.
WEAPONS & EQUIPMENT
As with all characters from Tales of the Jedi, Nomi Sunrider's blade design and color changed from issue to issue. However, this can actually be partially explained by Nomi using several different weapons, Including her fallen husbands and Master Thon's weapons, as well as losing at least one of her self made weapons. The last time we saw it however, Nomi Sunrider's green bladed Lightsaber was the definition of completely standard, with a spherical design that did not provide her with any advantages or weaknesses.
FORCE POWERS EDGE
Although he is certainly no weakling when it comes to the Force, I also wouldn't peg K'kruhk as A absolute Master of the Force. On the converse, I can only think of one other character from the Star Wars saga who mastered as many arcane and powerful ability's as quickly as Nomi Sunrider: Luke Skywalker. To put it bluntly, K'kruhk is simply outclassed here. Although Nomi does not share the same strength in telekinesis that other Force top tiers do, A natural ability with Battle meditation and mastery of Force severe, plus whatever other abilities she gained during the time between being a knight and Grand master, more than makes up for this. Also, it should be noted that, as she has previously been shown using her telepathic attacks against other trained Force users, it is entirely possible that Nomi could use her battle meditation on K'kruhk and end the battle before it even begins. We give Nomi Sunrider the edge in Force powers.
WEAPONS & EQUIPMENT EDGE
Not much to say here: The only real difference between these two in terms of equipment is K'kruhk's hat which, despite being Badarse, does not actually provide him with any combative edge. We declare them equals in terms of equipment.
THE VERDICT
As with many battles before, there is a core dilemma at the heart of this battle: Which is better, to primarily focus on Martial Arts or the Supernatural? On the one hand, I would argue it is much more practical to focus on the former, but it doesn't take a Grand Master to figure out the ability to destroy your foe with a wave of the hand is an insane advantage. With both masters having A clear advantage in the opposite edge, I think it is time to forego further basic discussion and see who wins this: To set up this battle, lets say it takes place in a abandoned Kamino city, so as not to provide either warrior with home field advantage. The two Masters face off, staring each other down. In A real situation, these two would probably bow respectfully and begin debating philosophy. however, since this is A versus battle not A what If scenario, K'kruhk takes the initiative and charges Nomi, who prepares to defend herself. The two engage, soon covering grand swaths of ground in A fierce duel. However, Nomi is quickly put at a disadvantage due to a lack of Martial skill and A much less imposing physique.
Finding an opening in his oppositions defense, K'kruhk sends a powerful blow from his fist to her chest, sending her flying. Leaping at her, planning to end the fight, K'kruhk instead finds himself flying through the air thanks to A powerful Force push. Nomi, realizing that Force severe would do nothing to A Light sider, instead falls back on her signature attack. Recovering from Nomi's attack, K'kruhk unleashes one of his own Force pushes, although Nomi barely manages to dodge it. launches himself at his opposition once again, the other Master barely defending herself from the attack. Although the battle begins anew, K'kruhk finds himself lagging and becoming less viable at every turn. To late, he realizes his opponent was using Battle Mind to unbalance him. With her enemy Caught flat footed, Nomi desperately seizes her chance and strikes swiftly and fatally. Now don't get us wrong: All K'kruhk would need to be is A slightly better martial artist or even a slightly more powerful Force user to sway the battle to his corner and as it stands, Nomi still only gets roughly six out of ten victories. However, although she is no master duelist, Nomi Sunrider more than makes up for it with a diverse skill set, both in the standard and arcane. We declare Nomi Sunrider the winner.
